Morocco could be 'the new Spain' for overseas investment
Popularity with British holidaymakers and increased air travel are expected to make Morocco a property hotspot for overseas investment, it has been reported.
Morocco could be 'the new Spain' for overseas investment
Rob Shaw, marketing and operations manager for Morocco properties, said that continuing investment in the country as well as the continued updating of its infrastructure and its proximity to Europe are making the north African country increasingly popular with overseas investors.
Moreover, Mr Shaw said that the liberalisation of the country's airports allowing more low-cost airlines to operate freely is likely to lead passenger numbers to top 16 million by 2011, reports Easier.
He said: "Morocco has certainly come to the fore in the last year and is now strongly tipped to be one of the best overseas investment opportunities around.
"Easily accessible from the UK, brimming with culture and enjoying a new economic confidence, Morocco has all the ingredients in the mix for those looking to invest overseas."
The news is supported by the director of Investors Provident, Hetal Shah's recent comment that Morocco was "coming into the limelight".
